MINNEAPOLIS - J.A. Happ returned to the Blue Jays in time for the clubs three-game series against the Twins. Hell be a long reliever for the foreseeable future, something with which hes not thrilled. "Its not necessarily what I prepared to do but if the phone rings and its me Im going to try and get guys out and take it from there," said Happ. "Other than that, I dont have a lot to say about the bullpen role." Happ entered spring training with a spot in the starting rotation. He pitched his way out of it, posting a 20.57 ERA in four appearances, battling inflammation in his back through most of March. After two poor outings, Happ was away from the club for two days, March 7-8, on what the Blue Jays termed "doctors orders" to remain off his feet. Happ returned and was no better in final two starts. The back issues, deemed to be a non-issue after Happs final appearance in a 22-5 loss to the Pirates on March 25, were the cause of his being placed on the disabled list the very next day. Happ made two rehab starts, one for Single-A Dunedin, the other for Triple-A Buffalo. With the Bisons, Happ struck out six hitters in 4 2/3 innings. The arrival of Happ, coupled with the optioning of catcher Erik Kratz to the Bisons, puts the Blue Jays back into an eight-man bullpen, three-man bench scenario. Another pitching decision is on the horizon with the impending return of closer Casey Janssen. Neil Wagner, Esmil Rogers, Todd Redmond and Happ are the four who could be realistically considered on the bubble. Both Rogers and Redmond are out of options. On merit, Redmonds earned the right to remain with the club. Happ has an option remaining but because he has more than five years of major league service time, he has the right to refuse assignment to the minor leagues. Rogers has given up four home runs in 8 1/3 innings of predominantly low leverage relief. However, he carries a $1.85-million ticket and is, indirectly, the asset the Blue Jays have from the John Farrell "trade" to Boston. Rogers was acquired from Cleveland for Mike Aviles, whom the Jays got from the Red Sox for Farrell, and Yan Gomes. Gomes, by the way, just signed a six-year extension with the Indians for $23-million. Or, the Blue Jays could simply option Neil Wagner back to Triple-A Buffalo, although that would fly in the face of any claim to stick with the best 25-man active roster. Manager John Gibbons trusts Wagner in high leverage, late-game situations but when Janssen is back, right-handers Steve Delabar and Sergio Santos will fill that role. The bullpen is, once again, a crowded place, and now includes a member who doesnt want to be there. "I see myself as a starter," said Happ. "I dont think thats any secret. I want to be a starter in the major leagues. Thats that." RASMUS PROGNOSIS GOOD Colby Rasmus wasnt in Tuesdays starting lineup, resting his left hamstring, which he tweaked in the fifth inning of Sundays win in Baltimore. "Im hoping to be in there (Wednesday,)" said Rasmus. "Come in (Wednesday) and see how it is. Got some good treatment in today and just going to go from there." The timing is unfortunate considering Rasmus recent offensive production. He hit home runs in both Saturdays and Sundays games and went 4-12 with three runs scored in the series with the Orioles. "I definitely feel much better today," said Rasmus. "I feel good about it. I dont feel like its something thats going to carry over. Just one day to get it right and hopefully (Wednesday) it will be good." REYES AND JANSSEN PLAY FOR DUNEDIN Jose Reyes and Casey Janssen made their first appearances for Single-A Dunedin on Tuesday night, the next step in their respective rehabilitation assignments. Reyes, coming back from a strained left hamstring, went hitless in four plate appearances but drew a walk, scored a run and drove in a run. He will play for Dunedin, again, on Wednesday and is expected to return to the Blue Jays on Friday, in time for a three-game weekend series in Cleveland. Janssen pitched the first inning, allowing a hit and striking out one batter. Theres no timetable set for Janssens return from an abdominal strain. Hell have at least one more appearance for Dunedin; then, maybe another. The Blue Jays are waiting to see how the injured area responds before determining how to proceed. WEATHER PROBLEMS Minnesotans are bracing for a rain-snow mix on Wednesday, which could threaten the second game of the series. Knuckleballer R.A. Dickey is scheduled to pitch for the Blue Jays. The Twins are to send right-hander Mike Pelfrey to the mound. Thursdays getaway day game is scheduled for 1:10 eastern time. This is the Jays only scheduled visit to Minnesota this season so if Wednesdays game is postponed it stands to reason the teams would play a doubleheader on Thursday. Byron Scott Lakers Jersey . Shaquille ONeal Lakers Jersey . -- During a players meeting following the All-Star break, Jermaine ONeal promised his teammates to play the rest of the regular season like he would never play again -- because he very well might not. http://www.lakersbasketballshop.com/Kyle-Kuzma-Jersey/. With the union re-formed, negotiations with owners will resume Friday on the remaining issues that would be in the collective bargaining agreement, according to a person familiar with the plans. Now, they might be up.Hoyer possibly started his final game for Cleveland after the Browns had their playoff hopes damaged Sunday with a 25-24 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.Andrew Luck threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to T.Y. Hilton with 32 seconds left to rally the Colts (9-4), who trailed 21-7 in the third quarter but came back to hand the Browns (7-6) a loss that could also signal the end of Hoyers stay as Clevelands starting quarterback.Hoyer managed to hold off rookie Johnny Manziel last week. But after failing to take advantage of favourable field position throughout the game and having another shaky performance, its safe to bet the Browns are on the verge of yet another change. Its just disappointing, Hoyer said afterward. What a great opportunity we just blew. Weve got to regroup and move on to next week. There are three games left. I dont know exactly what the situation is, but well learn from it, find out what the mistakes are and fix them.He may not get the chance.Browns coach Mike Pettine decided last week to stick with Hoyer because the Browns were still in the playoff hunt, and he had gotten them there. Although the Browns havent been eliminated, their post-season chances took a significant blow. Pettine and his staff may feel its time see if Manziel, the highly touted first-round pick, is indeed the answer for the future.Pettine dodged the quarterback issue following the game.I havent even thought about it, so its something well get together and discuss at some point, he said. Its too fresh after this one to think forward.Hoyer finished 14 of 31 for 140 yards and had two interceptions, the second coming on a long throw on the games final play.Clevelands was a mess after halftime as the Browns gained just 61 yards and picked up three first downs. The Browns went three-and-out on their first three series in the second half and punted five times; they could not come up with the play to put the Colts away. They wasted a strong effort by their defence as Cleveland got a fumble recovery by linebacker Craig Robertson for a touchdown and rookie cornerback Justin Gilbert, a disappointment for much of the season, returned an interception 23 yards for a TD in the third quarter to put the Browns up 21-7.ddddddddddddBrowns kicker Billy Cundiff had another rough day. He missed a 40-yard field goal in the first half and has now missed an attempt in five straight games. It added up to a disappointing day that began so promisingly after Desmond Bryant and Paul Kruger separated Luck from the ball in the first quarter and Robertson pounced on it to put the Browns ahead 7-0.Hoyer, though, never got the offence going, and even though the Browns were up by 14 in the third quarter, Cleveland fans had this impending sense of doom.Sure enough, Luck drove the Colts 90 yards in the final minutes, helped by a questionable pass interference call against Browns cornerback Buster Skrine. The Browns also had Colts running back Daniel Boom Herron stopped on a fourth-and-1 play with 44 seconds left, but he spun off the pile and picked up the first down. Its frustrating, Kruger said. But this is a team game and were all one. This is a situation where we (as a defence) couldve won the game on that last drive, so its highly disappointing.Hoyer nearly got the Browns into position for a last-second field goal try. His deep throw down the left side went off the hands of Josh Gordon with 28 seconds left. It was another miss between Hoyer and Gordon, who have rarely been in sync over the past three weeks. Hoyers final heave downfield was intercepted by Josh Gordy.Hoyer expects to start next week against Cincinnati, adding nothing has been said to him about a change. This time, one seems inevitable.NOTES: The Browns forced four turnovers — two interception, two fumbles — for the second time this season. ... Rookie Isaiah Crowell had a 9-yard TD run in the first half, Clevelands 16th TD rushing this season. They had four a year ago. ... CB KWaun Williams sustained a hamstring injury in the first half and did not return. ... Gordon caught a 9-yard pass on Clevelands first play and had just one more reception.___AP NFL websites: http://www.pro32.ap.org and http://www.twitter.com/AP_NFL ' ' '
