(SportsNetwork.com) - After leaving some points on the table during a recent homestand, the Minnesota Wild will try to tighten their grip on a playoff spot during a three-game road trip. A stop in Boston could be a good place to start. The Wild look to avoid their first ever setback at TD Garden as they visit the Atlantic Division-leading Bruins on Monday night. You can watch the game live on TSN2 at 7:30pm et/4:30pm pt. Minnesota will try to keep this a 60-minute contest as it lost three shootouts during a 1-0-3 homestand. Still, with 80 points the Wild own a five-point edge for a wild card position in the Western Conference. Saturdays 2-1 shootout setback to the Columbus Blue Jackets closed out Minnesotas residency. Jason Pominville scored in the third period for the Wild and Darcy Kuemper made 28 saves through overtime. Minnesota then grabbed a 2-0 lead in the shootout on goals by Zach Parise and Mikko Koivu, but Artem Anisimov and Mark Letestu countered for Columbus. Matt Moulson then had his fourth-round chance stopped and Kuemper was beaten by Ryan Johansen. Kuemper tried to disrupt the attempt with a poke check, but Johansen pulled the puck to the backhand and sent it into the net. The goal was upheld after it was ruled that Kuemper did not get his stick on the puck. That left the Wild with five of a possible eight points on its homestand, but Moulson said, "down the stretch every point is important." The Wild will visit the New York Islanders on Monday night, so both Kuemper and Ilya Bryzgalov could see action over the next two days. Kuemper has gone 12-4-4 with a 2.19 goals against average in 22 games (21 starts) this season and has never faced Boston, while Ilya Bryzgalov is 6-3-3 with a 2.49 GAA versus the Bruins. Bryzgalov has made just one start with the Wild since being acquired from the Edmonton Oilers. Minnesota has had no trouble picking up points versus Boston. The Wild lead the all-time series 10-1-1, having won the past two meetings, and have never lost in six trips to TD Garden. They have outscored the Bruins 19-6 in those games. The Wild host the Bruins on April 8 to wrap the season series. Boston will also play games on back-to-back nights as it will visit the New Jersey Devils after concluding a three-game residency on Monday. The Bruins come into this matchup having won eight in a row to post their longest winning streak since a 10-game span from Nov. 1-23, 2011. The Bruins picked up a 5-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday. Jarome Iginla scored twice and Milan Lucic had a goal and two assists. Both players are on four-game point streaks, with Iginla having totaled four goals and an assist and Lucic notching two tallies and four helpers. Chris Kelly and Torey Krug also scored, while David Krejci picked up three assists in the victory as Boston improved to 11-1-2 in its past 14 games and leads the Montreal Canadiens by 14 points for first place in the division. "It just seems like everything is clicking for us right now," said Lucic. Chad Johnson got the start in the Boston and made 29 saves, improving the backup to 8-0-0 with a 1.40 GAA at home this season. It wouldnt be shocking to see Johnson face the Wild for the first time in his career tonight given tomorrows road game and his success at home. No. 1 Tuukka Rask is 1-1-0 with a 1.45 GAA in two previous meetings with Minnesota and has made a career-high 49 starts this season. Jim Brown Jersey . He never mentioned anything about his hitting. The 33-year-old right-hander had success with both Sunday, pitching six solid innings and helping the offence-starved Mets with an RBI single as New York salvaged a doubleheader split with a 4-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Denzel Ward Jersey . -- Houstons All-Star tandem of James Harden and Dwight Howard refused to let the Rockets give in to fatigue. http://www.brownsrookiestore.com/Browns-Denzel-Ward-Jersey/. Hes still nowhere close to throwing yet. The four-time MVP was in good spirits when he made his first public appearance on the field since having neck surgery Sept. Sheldrick Redwine Browns Jersey . "He started putting me on the ice to strengthen them at the suggestion from a doctor," he said. Weight said it wasnt a pretty sight at the rink in St. Clair Shores, Mich. "I looked like Forrest Gump," he joked. Sione Takitaki Jersey . Louis against the Blues. The Canucks picked up their second straight victory in the swings opener on Tuesday in Calgary before getting routed in Minnesota last night, 5-1.Should Lee Cattermole and Gary Cahill have seen red? Was Jamie Vardy rightly awarded a penalty? Should Arsenal have had a penalty against Manchester City? Former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher joined host Rob Wotton in the Sky Sports News HQ studio to analyse a number of contentious calls from the weekend. Was your team affected by a controversial decision? Read on to find out... MATCH: Sunderland v Chelsea, Premier League, SaturdayINCIDENT: Gary Cahill is shown a yellow card, rather than a red, for bringing down Jermain Defoe in the first minute of the match as he looked to go through on goal.GALLAGHERS VIEW: It shows how alert the referee and his assistant were, for two reasons. Defoe is yards offside when he gets the ball but its a back-pass from a Chelsea player, so the assistant is alert and hasnt flagged for offside. The referee then sees Cahill has fouled him but John Terry is close enough to make it a possible goalscoring opportunity rather than an obvious one.GALLAGHERS VERDICT: Correct decision Gary Cahill was booked inside the first minute against Sunderland MATCH: Sunderland v ChelseaINCIDENT: Lee Cattermole is booked for a lunging tackle on Eden Hazard.GALLAGHERS VIEW: I think its a worse challenge than the referee realises. He sees it and thinks its a yellow. It looks a yellow but close up it is a nasty tackle and he is very fortunate to only get a yellow. If he had got a red he could not have complained. Its late and he has hit him with the studs. In real time the referee has not seen it as clearly as we have on the replays.GALLAGHERS VERDICT: Wrong decision Lee Cattermole only saw yellow for this tackle on Eden Hazard MATCH: Sunderland v ChelseaINCIDENT: John Terry is sent off for two yellow cards. The first is for a foul on Jermain Defoe and the second for a challenge on Wahbi Khazri. John Terry was booked for this tackle on Jermain Defoe GALLAGHERS VIEW: The first one is a yellow. Terry realises as well, he puts his hand up straight away. Its late and reckless and he has no chance of playing the ball, which has gone. Its a yellow card.I dont know why he then made the second tackle, he had no reason to. The fact he has followed through has convinced the referee to send him off.GALLAGHERS VERDICT: Correct decision Terry was shown a second yellow card for bringing down Wahbi Khazri MATCH: Leicester v Everton, Premier League, SaturdayINCIDENT: Jamie Vardy wins a penalty after being fouled by Matthew Pennington. It was a similar incident to the one against West Ham a few weeks ago, when Vardy was adjudged to have dived and was shown a second yellow card.GALLAGHERS VIEW: I think it is the right decision, he bundles him over and iits a penalty.dddddddddddd People says its not the most clear cut but the defender comes across him. Against West Ham, Vardy went across the defender and was looking to make the contact. He initiated it. With Pennington they are side by side and he hasnt taken his ground. He did against West Ham. Side by side they are similar challenges with different outcomes, so you can see how different it is. But the referee got both right.GALLAGHERS VERDICT: Correct decision Jamie Vardy won a penalty for the foul by Matthew Pennington (left), a few weeks after being booked for diving (right) MATCH: Manchester City v Arsenal, Premier League, SundayINCIDENT: From an Arsenal free-kick into the box, both Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud appear to have their shirts pulled. No penalty is given.GALLAGHERS VIEW: If its seen then something should have been done, but its week-in, week-out. We have one more week to go and then in the summer we should sit down and think how can we do this better and identify this. Fernandinho pulled Alexis Sanchezs arm at a free-kick MATCH: Man City v ArsenalINCIDENT: The referee is hit by the ball, breaking up an Arsenal attack, but then later in the game plays an advantage after a foul on Jack Wilshere from which the Gunners score.GALLAGHERS VIEW: You have almost gone from a referees nightmare to a dream because they have scored after the advantage and you can turn around say, I have played a major part in this game flowing properly and the right decision being made. Thats what you want every game. The ball hit the referee in Man Citys draw with Arsenal, but he later played an advantage that allowed Arsenal to score MATCH: Middlesbrough v Brighton, Championship, SaturdayINCIDENT: Brightons Dale Stephens is sent off for a foul on Gaston Ramirez. The referee initially pulls the yellow card out of his pocket but appears to change his mind after seeing a gash on Ramirezs leg.GALLAGHERS VIEW: This is such a debatable incident. He sees the outcome of the tackle and when you see an injury like that, I dont see how you can keep the player on the park. You see his leg and if he hadnt been sent off how would you control the rest of the game?He was stretchered off and needed serious medical attention. Its such a nasty injury. Maybe the referee didnt realise at first how serious it was but having realised I think he has taken the right action.GALLAGHERS VERDICT: Correct decision Dale Stephens was sent off for this tackle Also See: City-Arsenal talking points Ranieri urges stars to stay Poch: Forget about Arsenal Live on Sky ' ' '
