Washington, DC (SportsNetwork. Joe Mauer Jersey .com) - Russell Westbrook finished with 32 points and his layup in the final seconds of overtime lifted the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 105-103 win over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night. Westbrook also tallied eight assists and eight rebounds, while Kevin Durant paced the Thunder with 34 points. Oklahoma City, which has won four straight, improved to 21-10 when both Durant and Westbrook go for 30-plus points in a game. Nene had a season-high 24 points in the loss and John Wall deposited 18 points with 13 assists. Paul Pierce and Bradley Beal each scored 14 points. Nene broke a tie late in the overtime period with a free throw that put the Wizards up 101-100. However, Durant converted a wing 3-pointer with 35 seconds left that moved the Thunder in front. Andre Roberson was whistled for goaltending on Washingtons next touch as Nene was fed inside for a layup that Roberson sent back toward halfcourt as the ball was on its way down. Westbrook picked up an inbound pass from Anthony Morrow with 3.6 seconds left, bolted through the defense and made his winning layup with under a second remaining. Walls desperation heave at the buzzer was off the mark and the Thunder held on. Durant knocked down a 3-pointer early in the fourth to end a 12-4 run, which helped Oklahoma City to its first lead since the beginning of the first quarter. Dion Waiters layup gave the visitors the lead at 75-74 prior to Durants trey that made it a four-point game. Morrow nailed a 3-pointer later in the fourth to push the lead to seven, but Pierce capped a 9-0 run with a 3-pointer to help the Wizards regain the advantage at 89-87. With Washington trailing by one and under a minute to play in regulation, Pierce buried another 3 to make it a 92-90 game. Westbrook then tied the game with a driving layup coming out of a timeout. Wall chucked up an air ball on the Wizards ensuing possession, then Durant was off the mark as the buzzer sounded and the game went to overtime. Serge Ibakas jumper started the third quarter, then his 3-pointer capped a 13-4 run for the Thunder that trimmed their halftime deficit to 54-51. Westbrook converted a three-point play later in the quarter to tie the game, but Washington ultimately took a 70-66 lead after three quarters. Oklahoma City, which went over the .500 mark for the first time this season in Tuesdays win at Miami, looked to hit a wall in the second quarter as Washington claimed a comfortable lead at the half. The Wizards limited their opponent to 4-of-22 shooting (18.2 percent) in the second, but they did not shoot much better at just 29.2 percent. Beal contributed five points as part of a quick 7-0 run before Westbrooks floater cut the Thunders deficit to 50-38 at halftime. Game Notes Steven Adams hauled in a career-high 20 rebounds in the win ... Washington had won nine of the last 11 at home in the series ... Pierce pulled down a season- high 12 rebounds in the loss ... There were 13 ties and nine lead changes. Stitched Twins Jerseys . MANCHESTER, England -- As statements of intent go, it couldnt have been much bigger. "If we only consider this season," Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini said, "there is just one club in Manchester -- and its ours." That comment -- an eye-catching one from a coach usually so reserved in front of the media -- was made last month ahead of a Champions League game against Barcelona. To some, it was a mere statement of fact, with City 12 points ahead of United in the Premier League at the time and still in contention for trophies on four fronts. To others, it was unnecessary goading. And it no doubt will have hit a nerve over at Old Trafford, at a club that is the reigning English champion and had ruled football in the city for the past three decades. For that reason, United may take even more pleasure than usual if it can beat City in Tuesdays Manchester derby at Old Trafford. "Well, Manchester United had lots and lots of seasons of domination," Moyes said Monday, when asked about Pellegrinis comment. "I dont think if I was a manager I would have turned round and necessarily said that we were the only club in Manchester because football does change, it goes in cycles." "I think its important for us to show the level weve got," Moyes added, "and that were not as far away as many people would have us." For the first time in a generation, City will head across town as the favourite to beat its fiercest rival at Old Trafford. United is down in seventh place in the standings after a turbulent first season under Moyes and City, to many, is the team most likely to be raising the Premier League trophy on May 11. Pelllegrinis side is six points behind first-place Chelsea with three games in hand. Torii Hunter Twins Jersey. If it wins its remaining 11 games, City cannot be stopped. "We always expect to go and win," said a confident Pellegrini, whose first Manchester derby ended in a 4-1 victory for his side in September. "Its not just because Manchester United has had a difficult season (that) we are going to go there and win." That derby defeat was Uniteds first crushing loss under Moyes this season -- and a few more have followed over the next six months. But what a difference a week has made for the United manager. He woke last Monday to scathing headlines after an embarrassing 3-0 home loss to Liverpool, with suggestions abound that his time could be up if United was eliminated from the Champions League. Seven days later and bolstered by two victories in a four-day span that kept the team in Europe and got it back on track in the league, Moyes was clicking his fingers as he walked cheerily through the clubs training complex and sitting a little comfier in his chair at the pre-match news conference. Its been that kind of season for Alex Fergusons replacement -- a massive low one week followed by a big high the next. Theres been no consistency and of the many alarming statistics to blight Moyes short reign, one perhaps stands out -- United has just one win this campaign against a team in the current top nine. "We want to try to perform better in the bigger games than weve done, Ive got no doubt about that," said Moyes, whose team is 18 points behind Chelsea. "Ive got no doubt it will improve, and I want us to show were still in there fighting." ' ' '
